ILTT UPDATE: The
Board of Directors has made the decision to continue with the tradition to hold
the ILTT, provided that we get enough “up front” commitment from would-be
participants. The last several years we have had only 10-11 boats participating.
In order to make this tournament happen we need a minimum of 15 boats entered up
front. We are putting together a committee of 4-5 persons to run this tournament
– so why not jump in there and help to make this the fun, successful tournament
that it once was. We have set aside the original dates, Sept. 5-7, and also want
to include a tuna category. The entry fees have not yet been established, but
will probably be close to last years with a prize/raffle for “early bird”
sign-ups. These are some of the issues that the tourney committee will have to
establish. So give us a call and tell us you can fish this event or that you
would like to help out by joining the tournament committee.
Remember – The ILTT is a club tradition and needs your support to insure its
continuance. This tournament is open to the public to stimulate inter-club
competition. Two or more boats from any club makes a team. Enter and bring home
a trophy for your club (our club) to display (bragging rights included.)
Club Cleanup Update: Since our last issue
and its criticism of the participation for “club cleanup day”, I have had
several members approach me with ideas for getting our projects accomplished. I
appreciated hearing from you. One of these ideas was to post the jobs that need
to be done so members could volunteer for a particular task. We’ve decided to
give this a try and hope that this will work better with everyone’s busy
schedules.
The following list will be posted at the club. Call or stop by the club to sign
up for the project of your choice. Also, let us know how we can help.

Fly equipment is so expensive that many think the Department of Defense has it contracted out.
